Frankincense is a hardened gum-like material (resin) derived from the Boswellia tree’s trunk. Its oil is used on the skin and in aromatherapy. Some bacteria and fungi appear to be killed by frankincense oil (yeasts). It’s a popular fragrance in soaps, lotions, and perfumes.
