Cudpahnuts are also known as chironji nuts or chiroli. Chironji seeds are commonly used in the preparation of most Indian sweets and savoury dishes. Chironji seeds are derived from the Buchanania lanzan tree, which is widely grown in India, particularly in the northwest. The Buchanania lanzan plant is a deciduous tree that can reach a height of 15 metres and is related to cashew nuts.
