Chili powder (also spelled chile, chilli, or powdered chilli) is the dried, pulverised fruit of one or more varieties of chilli pepper, sometimes with other spices added (where it is also sometimes known as chilli powder blend or chilli seasoning mix). It is used in culinary dishes as a spice (or spice blend) to add pungency (piquancy) and flavour.
