Camphor is used to treat coughs, pain, and itching. It is also used to treat insect bites, acne, and a variety of other conditions, but there is little scientific evidence to back up most of these claims. Taking camphor by mouth is dangerous. Camphorated oil and camphorated spirits are examples of camphor products.
